Shakira Adkison

I began my career with Greater Baden in May 2012 as a Call Center Representative. In 2013, I was promoted to Call Center Lead. In 2014, I became a Patient Care Advocate (currently known as a Population Health Coordinator), working with several MCO patient panels. In 2016, I left Greater Baden and continued to pursue my healthcare career with Medstar. In 2017, I attended the University of Phoenix and earned an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Health Information Systems. In 2018, I returned to Greater Baden to continue my role as a Population Health Coordinator, serving the patients in our community. In 2019, I was promoted to Lead Population Health coordinator where I helped lead other coordinators, assisting with the access to quality care for our patients. In 2020, in addition to my Population Health duties, I provided administrative support to Oxon Hill as the Administrative Services Coordinator before taking on my position as Health Center Manager. I also returned to school and completed my Bachelor of Science in Health Administration in 2022. Today, I manage the center at Oxon Hill and Bryan’s Road.
