Manuel Ruiz, LCPC

Manuel is originally from Colombia (South America), where he obtained his license as a professional psychologist, and worked as a college professor for several years. He completed a master’s program in pastoral counseling from Loyola University Chicago (2005) and is currently a doctoral candidate (PhD) in counselor education and supervision at Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky). In 2006, he joined the Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County as a bilingual counselor and worked there for 10 years, not only as a counselor but also as a program coordinator. In 2014 he joined Synergy Family Services, Inc. in Maryland, where he served as a bilingual therapist and the domestic violence program coordinator. Over the years, he has gained training and experience in the fields of behavioral issues with children, stress and PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, couples therapy, and domestic violence. He has also been a lecturer and presenter at different conferences, both domestically and internationally.
