Job Summary:
The Bi-lingual Medical Interpreter/Scanner’s primary role is to provide interpretive services to the clinical staff and their secondary role is to provide administrative support to the health centers in the form of scanning form into the electronic medical record (eCW) and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Provides interpretation services to patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) at Greater Baden centers.
- Provider timely and accurate internal customer service.
- Provides assistance in filing and scanning medical test results and other documentation into the medical record.
- Process patient transfer request between Greater Baden centers.
- Performs other clerical duties, such as retrieving and distributing faxes, filing, photocopying and collating, sorting and routing mail.
- May be required to answer incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of call, and forwards to appropriate personnel or department.
Nonessential Functions:
- Provides backup support to front desk staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification of competency.
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Interpreter Program (only graduation from programs of a minimum 40 hours duration will be accepted).
Substitutions
Any combination of education and experience. Incumbent may utilize either of the following options as a substitution to qualify:
- Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education in the target language.
- Graduation from a high school of the country where the target language is spoken.
- Four (4) years of documented experience and a two-year degree in the target language.
- Native or heritage speaker of the target language.

Work Environment
This job operates in an outpatient office environment. This role is frequently exposed to {fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration}, and high stress situations or events.

- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the Bi-Lingual Medical Interpreter regular performance evaluation.

Must be able to drive between Greater Baden Medical Services, Inc. locations.
